Dear Jim:
Thank you for your letter of February 24.
The fragment which you sent is from the Zeeck specimen (sample enclosed). In the polished area are two grains of metal--as much as appears in a complete cross section. What structure remains is so warped that it is nearly impossible to make a reasonable determination of the variety to which this specimen belongs, but I would guess it is a medium octaedrite. Let me know if you need more of it.
I have offered to talk about meteorites in the Tulia schools and have been delaying a trip to Texas until I learn when such talks can be scheduled.
As is usual after the first of the year, I am bogged down here, but I will try to get some good photos of Ashmore off to you before too long for use in your paper. Possibly you will want to give a paper at the October meeting of the Meteoritical Society. The meeting will be sponsored by Goddard Space Flight Center and held someplace in the area, possibly in the mountains of Virginia or West Virginia, so it won't be far from your new post.
With best wishes,
Sincerely,
Glenn I Huss
